1,240 Capiz farmers receive cash assistance

CAPIZ – Around 1,240 farmers in this province received P10,000 financial assistance each under the Presidential Assistance for Farmers, Fisherfolk and their Families (PAFFF).

Gov. Fredenil H. Castro led the distribution on August 1 at the Villareal Stadium in Roxas City.

The beneficiaries were from the towns of Cuartero, Dao, Dumarao, Jamindan, Pilar, and Sapian who were affected by the El Niño phenomenon.

The fund was sourced from the P50 million that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos had recently turned over to the provincial government.

Also present during the distribution of financial assistance were Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Technical Director for Operation and Extension, Engr. Jose Albert Barrogo; Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) acting head Raul Perez; 1st District deputy administrator Ricky Martin; Jamindan’s Mayor Mac Valdemar; and representatives from the Provincial Treasurer’s Office and Department of Social Welfare and Development./PN
