BACOLOD City – Three employees of the provincial government of Negros Occidental have been terminated from government service for alleged falsification of official document and serious dishonesty.

Lawyers Ernie Magaspag and Roxenne Sumanting, and bookbinder Warlito Butalon, however, can challenge the decision before the Civil Service Commission, according to Provincial Legal Officer (PLO) Alberto Nillas Jr.

“The grounds are based on substantial evidence that they committed serious dishonesty and falsification of an official document, their DTR (daily time record),” Nillas said.

Both Magaspag and Butalon denied these allegations.

Meanwhile, the 60-day suspension of lawyer Ariel Cuaycong has ended. He was reinstated to the PLO but the hearing of a similar complaint against him will continue, Nillas said.

Provincial Budget Officer Jose Percival Salado Jr., Mambukal Resort head Ellen Marie Jalandoni and Ma. Mina Pellejo, former Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program Division officer-in-charge, have been assigned to the Negros Occidental Economic Enterprise Development Department pending resolution of administrative cases lodged against them./PN
