3 ‘rebels’ yield guns, bullets

BACOLOD City – For possessing unlicensed firearms, three suspected members of the New People’s Army were arrested in Barangay San Agustin, Isabela, Negros Occidental.

Armed with three search warrants, authorities raided the residences of 51-year-old Weniefredo Carillo, 46-year-old Martillano Lindayao and 40-year-old Dimas Lindayao around 8 a.m. on Aug. 2, a police report showed.

Recovered from the houses were a .45-caliber pistol loaded with five live bullets and two .38 revolvers loaded with five and four bullets respectively, it added.

The suspects were detained in the lockup cell of the Isabela municipal police station, facing charges for Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
