ILOILO City – The National University (NU) Bulldogs of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) has agreed to become the third collegiate squad in the four-team pocket tournament here.

According to Ilonggo sportsman Rodolfo Go Villaruz, the Bulldogs are set to compete with fellow UAAP team University of the Philippines and last year’s National Collegiate Athletic Association runner-up San Beda University.

“The NU Bulldogs have agreed to play here in our pocket tournament,” said Villaruz. “We will try to complete the four team after the enhance community quarantine. We have sent invitations to some schools na din.”
NU Bullpups mentor Goldwyn Monteverde has been tapped to be the rebuilding Bulldogs head coach. He replaced Jamike Jarin, who signed to be the University of the East Red Warriors’ assistant coach.
Former Bulldogs scoring leader Dave Ildefonso already departed the school’s basketball program and declared his services once again to Ateneo. The older Ildefonso, Shaun, on the other hand, decided to play out his final year with the NU team.
