ILOILO City – Some 3,600 stage/viewing stand tickets for the Dinagyang Festival tribes competition on Jan. 26, 2020 will be made available beginning Dec. 9.
According to Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI) tickets and stages in-charge Allan Tan, prices range from P1,500 to P2,200.
IFFI will partner with Department of Tourism-accredited establishments such as hotels and tour operators for the ticket selling.
“Para hapos sa aton mga locals and tourists mag-avail sang tickets,” Tan said.
Tickets will also be sold at city hall and at the IFFI office.
This set-up should minimize the practice of bulk-buying of tickets, said Tan.
During IFFI public consultations, according to Tan, hotel managers cited past Dinagyang festivities where guests complained about failing to secure tickets.
“This time, hotels can package the tickets with their rooms,” said Tan.
IFFI has decided to reduce the performance areas of competing 2020 Dinagyang tribes to four from the usual five.
These four areas are the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand, Solis-Iznart Street, Valeria-Ledesma Street, and Ma. Clara Street.
The Solis-Iznart Street performance area would be for the provincial government of Iloilo and its guests in lieu of the scrapped performance area at the Iloilo provincial capitol./PN
