MANILA – Crispin John Cansino has agreed to transfer to the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers.
Insiders told Panay News that the 20-year-old Cansino accepted the offer to continue his collegiate career with the Fighting Maroons following a zoom meeting with UP officials.
Minutes after the meeting, the former UAAP juniors Most Valuable Player winner confirmed his commitment with the Fighting Maroons by posting the “kamao” sign on his social media account.
Aside from the Fighting Maroons, other schools that pitched in for Cansino’s services were De La Salle University Green Archers, Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles, Adamson University Falcons, and NCAA champion Letran Knights.
The six-foot-two Cansino admitted that he was still hurt with his removal from Growling Tigers lineup but is looking forward to bring the same energy he had at the Fighting Maroons.
“Sa (UP), pinapangako ko na kung paano ko binigay buong puso at pagkatao ko sa UST ganun din ako makukuha niyo — kung ano ‘yung natutunan ko hindi ko iiwan at dadalin ko,” Cansino said./PN
