ILOILO City – The Manggahan Festival of Guimaras – the “sweetest fete” in Western Visayas – is set to take center stage in the Land of the Rising Sun.
The world-famous festival will showcase its vibrant mango-inspired costume and street dancing performances at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo, Japan for the “Philippine Festival 2019: Pasko ng Bayan” on November 30 and December 1, 2019.
Twenty performers of Hubon Guimarasnon sang Manggahan Festival will showcase the island’s culture and tradition during the grand parade and cultural presentation of the festival.
Officials from the provincial government will also participate in an investment forum with Japanese investors.
The Guimaras tourism booth in Japan will also exhibit the things people will love about the island.
This development was materialized through the partnership of the Province of Guimaras and the Philippine Festival Organizing Committee in Japan.
The exposition of the Manggahan Festival in Japan is the second in the province’s thrust of bringing Guimaras to the world dubbed “Manggahan Festival to the World Series.”
In June 2018, Hubon Guimarasnon made extra special the celebration of the 120th Philippine Independence Day Commemoration in New York City.
The Hubon also performed in Washington D.C., Pennyslvania and New Jersey in the United States of America.

The festivities are a celebration of the province’s mango industry, showcasing the culture, livelihood and products of the Guimarasnons.
Manggahan Festival has bested other cultural performances regionally and nationally in the past years.
Manggahan achieved a three-peat glory when it was hailed champion in the Kasadyahan Regional Cultural Competition in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
The festival bagged the first runner-up award in 2017 and 2018, while in 2019 it was declared second runner-up in the Aliwan Fiesta, the gathering of all festivals in the country.(With a report from Guimaras PIO/PN)
