Iloilo police reports August gains in law enforcement

ILOILO – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) reported progress in its law enforcement and anti-criminality operations throughout August.

Throughout last month, the IPPO conducted 33 anti-drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 41 drug traffickers. Among those apprehended were 10 high-value targets.

Cops also confiscated 1,047.70 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P7,124,381.76.

In its pursuit of justice, IPPO’s tracker teams executed 82 warrants of arrest, successfully capturing 82 fugitives. This included 19 individuals classified as the most wanted in the province.

The IPPO also collaborated with the provincial and municipal Bantay Dagat taskforces to combat illegal fishing activities. This partnership led to 47 operations that resulted in the arrest of 112 illegal fishers, the impounding of 65 fishing boats, and the confiscation of Php 173,610.00 worth of fish.

Efforts against illegal quarrying saw 35 operations leading to the arrest of 40 individuals and the impounding of 38 delivery trucks.

The IPPO also launched 22 operations targeting illegal gambling, which resulted in the arrest of 32 individuals, with 17 cases filed against them.

In its ongoing campaign against loose firearms, the IPPO recovered 71 firearms. Of these, 10 were confiscated during operations, 56 were voluntarily surrendered by citizens, and five were deposited at police stations for safekeeping.

Police Colonel Razalan, the IPPO director, expressed his satisfaction with the achievements and extended his gratitude to the Ilonggo community for their continued support.

He emphasized collaboration between the police force and the public in maintaining peace and order in the province.
