AFTER being shamed for her post-pregnancy body, Melissa Ricks took to social media to send a message of body positivity by urging her followers to embrace their imperfections.
On Instagram, the “Nasaan Ka Elisa?” star posted on Friday an unedited, unfiltered photo of herself and wrote as a caption: “So I was sitting here editing my photo. Then all of a sudden I decided to not edit it at all. Not even a filter. Just as I am. As raw as it can be.”
“This is me! It’s okay not to be perfect. Each and every flaw makes you who you are. Each scar, stretchmark, wrinkle, is part of your story. Part of what has molded you to become who you are today. You are special. Don’t let anyone make you believe otherwise. It’s okay to be you, do you… Remember everyone is fighting their own battle. Be kind.”
Ending her post, Melissa said the changes in her body brought by motherhood are worth it because she has “become a braver, stronger and hopefully a smarter version of” herself.
Melissa is a single mother to a four-year-old daughter named Kierra. (Push)
