MANILA – The entire Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) team NLEX Road Warriors yielded negative results for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“All NLEX Road Warriors players, coaches and staff, including utilities and ball boys, tested negative for the virus,” the NLEX said.
The rapid testing conducted on the Road Warriors members at the NLEX Compound Balintawak was done simultaneously with employees of the office there. Swab testing would have been done to those who would turn out positive, but the need to do so did not come.
NLEX was the second team under the Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP) group to undergo COVID-19 testing after the Meralco Bolts (results not received yet). Talk ‘N Text KaTropa, on the other hand, will have its virus testing this week.
Apart from the COVID-19 testing, the Road Warriors also turned over their donated face masks and face shields to Department of National Defense secretary Delfin Lorenzana for medical and other frontliners stationed at the ‘We Heal As One facility’ of the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan to use.
The Road Warriors team was represented by head coach Joseller “Yeng” Guiao, veteran players Asi Taulava, Kevin Alas, Cyrus Baguio, Joseph Ronald Quinahan, and Kyles Lao during the turnover.
NLEX is the fourth PBA team with all members testing negative for COVID-19./PN
