Over 3K fugitives fall in 6-month police blitz

ILOILO City – Over the past six month across Western Visayas, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has apprehended 3,004 individuals with pending arrest warrants.

This large-scale operation, involving 2,387 individual actions by various units, has led to the capture of both high-profile and lesser-known offenders.

Notably, 512 of the arrested individuals were identified as “most wanted” persons, including those listed in the Top 10 most sought after.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) led the charge with 139 high-profile arrests, closely followed by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) with 138.

The Capiz PPO had 49; Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) with 48; Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), 45, Antique PPO, 44; Aklan PPO, 28’ Guimaras PPO, 11; Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Regional Field Unit 6 (CIDG-RFU6) with nine; and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB6) with one.

In addition to the high-profile arrests, the operation also targeted 2,492 individuals charged with lesser offenses.

The Negros Occidental PPO recorded the highest number of such arrests, totaling 1,153, demonstrating the comprehensive scope of the crackdown.

The Iloilo PPO had 462; BCPO, 191; ICPO, 177; Antique PPO, 165; Aklan PPO, 131; Capiz PPO, 123;, Guimaras PPO, 62; RMFB6, 15;, and CIDG-RFU6, 13.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of PRO-6, has commended the efforts of all city and provincial directors, urging them to continue their vigorous campaign against fugitives.
“These six months’ accomplishments reflect the hard work and patience of our personnel. It is our ongoing mission to bring these fugitives to justice and maintain public safety in our communities,” said Wanky.

Wanky also emphasized the importance of continued vigilance despite the current absence of organized robbery groups in the region, as indicated by the latest intelligence reports.
