MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has no serious illness, Malacañang reiterated on Sunday.
Rep. Gary Alejano of the Magdalo party-list has claimed that Duterte is “old” and “not healthy.”
“The President has always been forthright about his condition,” Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque Jr. said. “What he is experiencing is typical of people of his age.”
His recent attendance to the Conference of the League of Municipalities Visayas Island Cluster in Cebu and the 12th anniversary celebration of the Eastern Mindanao Command in Davao was enough proof that Duterte is in the pink of health, said Roque.
The Palace official accused Alejano of spreading “misinformation” on Duterte’s health to further his political ambitions.
“(It) is certainly in aid of election. We hope the people will judge him accordingly,” Roque said.
In June the party-list representative announced he will run for senator in the 2019 mid-term election./PN
