ROXAS City – The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) recently held a sendoff ceremony for the 59 Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (RPSB) at the civic center of Tapaz town.

Tapaz information officer Stephen Faeldin said the 59 police personnel were deployed in upland barangays of the town: Garcia, Libertad and Wright.

Police Colonel Jerome Afuyog Jr., CPPO director, stressed the significance of the RPSB program in enhancing the effectiveness of police operations at the grassroots level.

Afuyog emphasized the importance of community engagement.

“The ability to positively impact the communities will serve and remind our police personnel of their responsibility to uphold the highest standards of professionalism,” he said.

In keeping with the goal of Philippine National Police chief General Rommel Francisco Marbil, “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka,” Afuyog stressed the need for collaborating with the local government and other government or nongovernment organizations to maintain peace and order with the active support of the community.

For his part, Tapaz mayor Roberto Palomar warmly welcomed the police officers assigned in barangays.

Palomar discussed the progress he had accomplished as mayor, the improvement in the peace and order of the municipality, and Tapaz’s role as the starting point for the Panay Island rebellion.

He also underlined the importance of the police in keeping the town peaceful and orderly.

“The deployment of the RPSB personnel aims to strengthen the partnership between the police force and the community, promoting a safer and more secure environment for all residents,” the mayor added. (Philippine Information Agency)
