KALIBO – This province’s top ten tax-paying companies and top ten real property tax payers were recognized during the 447th founding anniversary of the local government of Kalibo on Nov. 3.
Rey Villaruel, municipal treasurer, said that the top ten firms who are rightfully paying their property taxes are Sanford Marketing Corporation, Citi Hardware Bacolod Incorporated, Regalado and Cipriano Supermarket, Clifford Construction Corporation, Sakura Autoworld Incorporated, L Bros Incorporated (Royal Supermarket), Emcor Incorporated, Paramount Ang Corporation (Mang Inasal), Golden Acres Development Corporation (McDonalds), and Masing and Sons Development Corporation.
First Pacific Fortune Commercial Corporation (Gaisano-Kalibo) was awarded the sustainability award. Mercury Drug Corporation meanwhile has been inducted as a Hall of Fame awardee.
The top ten real property tax payers include Citymall Commercial Centers Incorporated, Rodulfo and Waldetrudes Garcia, Royal Four Seasons Corporation, Roberto and Editha Corporation, Ang Pue Hardware and Lumber/Clifford Construction Corporation, William Hui Ti/ Lysa Ti Uy/ Lyna Hui Ti, Vallacar Transit Incorporated, Fus Merchanise de Kalibo, Citi Hardware Bacolod, and Regalado and Cipriano Supermarket Incorporated.
During the 4th Kalibo Business Forum held recently, councilor Cynthia Dela Cruz commended the Municipal Treasurers Office for reaching P129 million in tax revenues this year.
Dela Cruz represented Vice Mayor Madeline Regalado during the business forum in cooperation with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Kalibo.
“I commended the Municipal Treasurers Office for our taxes revenue amounts to P129 million, with the business tax alone contributing P100 million and real property taxes and others fees giving P29 million. Our non-tax revenue amounts to P81 Million,” she said.
“Our IRA (Internal Revenue Allotment) is P160 million which is about 40 percent of our annual budget of P400 million. This is a good indicator noting that we are not highly dependent on our national government for our operations and that we have a good internally generated fund,” she added./PN
