CARDO DALISAY remains far-and-away the king of Philippine TV despite facing back-to-back challengers with the conclusion and subsequent premiere of primetime rivals.
“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” which for over three years has followed the adventures of the heroic Cardo (Coco Martin), was unmoved from the top spot throughout the three-month run of its last competing program, “Cain at Abel.”
The GMA-7 offering concluded last Friday, Feb.15, with its final episode garnering 15.9 percent in nationwide ratings, according to Kantar Media. ABS-CBN’s “Ang Probinsyano,” meanwhile, registered double that viewership with 39.1 percent on the same night.
On Monday, the primetime stalwart was pitted against a new challenger, “Kara Mia,” but that too failed to scare Cardo off his No. 1 spot.
Citing Kantar Media data, producer Dreamscape Entertainment Television announced that “Ang Probinsyano” posted a nationwide rating of 41 percent – double digits ahead of “Kara Mia’s” 17.9 percent.
In terms of enduring relevance and unwavering viewership, the long-running “Ang Probinsyano” is unparalleled – a fact even rival stars have acknowledged, with the likes of Dennis Trillo and Dingdong Dantes congratulating Martin on the show’s continued success. (ABS-CBN News)
