Visitors, foreign dignitaries enjoy ‘Foodtrip sa Capiz’

ROXAS City – Hundreds of visitors, including several foreign dignitaries, enjoyed a free seafood dining experience as part of the Capiztahan celebration in this capital city.

“Foodtrip sa Capiz” was held on Thursday at the Capiz stadium during lunchtime.

Mountains of steamed crabs, shrimps and oysters coming from the coastal towns on the province were prepared on a long buffet table. Other exotic seafood dishes were also served.

Gov. Antonio del Rosario said seafood from Capiz is not only in demand locally, but also internationally.

Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong are among countries that source their seafood supplies from the province, del Rosario added.

The foreign dignitaries who enjoyed the “food trip” were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Russian Federation to the Republic of the Philippines Igor Anatolyevich Khovaey, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Adekunbi Abibat Sonaike-Ayodeji, Ambassador of Bangladesh Asas Alam Siam, Charge d’ Affaires, A.I. of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Dhewajani, and Nawi Bokuik, Charge D’ Affaires, A.L., Papua New Guinea.
