ILOILO City – Majority of the learners in Western Visayas preferred the “modular learning modality,” according to the Department of Education (DepEd)-6.
Dr. Lea Belleza, DepEd-6 regional information officer, said that more than 50 percent of learners who registered for School Year 2020-2021 in public schools in the region preferred the modular learning delivery modality.
“A big number of learners opted for the modular learning modality,” she said, adding that these modules would be centralized.
Belleza said that the preparation of the modules has been assigned in the regions, as to the subjects and grade levels, and these would be consolidated in the central office and will be downloaded to the regions.
“As our own initiative, we also have our pool of writers who prepared modules in the schools and division offices,” she said.
Other learning delivery modalities that will be offered in the upcoming school year include blended learning, online, television-based instruction, and radio-based instruction.
These preferences were gathered through the Learner Enrolment and Survey Forms, which were disseminated during the enrollment period.
As per DepEd6 data, a total of 1,592,655 learners from kindergarten to senior high school have enrolled in public schools, as of July 22, 2020.(PIA-Iloilo)
