ILOILO City – A vehicular accident in Barangay San Rafael, Miag-ao, Iloilo left a senior citizen dead and a motorist hurt on Saturday night.
The 67-year-old Romeo Setias died of head and body injuries while motorcycle driver Jerwin Garrovillo, 45, of Barangay Maringyan, Miag-ao sustained bruises.
The accident happened around 6:20 p.m. as Garrovillo was on his way to Barangay Narat-an, Miag-ao. He hit Setias who was crossing the road.
Another passing vehicle hit Setias, too.
Concerned residents took Setias to the Miag-ao First Aid Clinic but Dr. Vanessa Atheni Anas declared the man “dead on arrival.”
Garrovillo was taken to the Miag-ao police station after his bruises was treated in the clinic./PN
