ILOILO – A driver died while his backrider was injured after their motorcycle overshot the road and hit the concrete post in Barangay Kirayan Norte, Miag-ao town at around 6 a.m. yesterday.
The 43-year-old Cesar Castillon of Barangay Bangladan, Miag-ao sustained fatal body injuries. He was pronounced “dead on arrival” at the Miag-ao Rural Health Unit.
Backrider Romnick Evan, 29, and a resident of Barangay Calampitao, Igbaras town, was confined at the said rural health unit.
Police Captain Francis Donne Lomahan, officer in-charge of Miagao Municipal Police Station (MPS), told Panay News that the victims were traveling on their way to Antique province when the accident happened.
“According sa backrider halin sila sa Barangay Bangladan going tani sa Antique kay si Romnick magawad sang lisensya tani. But then pag-abot da sa Barangay Kirayan Norte nag-overshot ang motor nila kag nakabunggo sa poste sang kuryente,” said Lomahan.
He added: “Both ini sila may helmet pero daw nadulaan guro sila control kay dulhugon ang dalan. Sa karon nahulat pa naton ang decision sang pamilya pero gina-suggest gid naton for autopsy examination.”/PN
