BACOLOD City – A motorist was killed while his back rider was wounded in a shooting in Barangay San Isidro, Toboso, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the fatality as Rex Gumban, 53. His companion, Enrique Hilapon, 50, on the other hand, was recuperating at the Toboso Municipal Health Office.
The shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. on July 15.
According to the police, the victims were headed to Andres Gumban National High School when attacked by three unidentified suspects.
Gumban was shot to the head which resulted to his instantaneous death.
Hilapon was hit on right shoulder but was able to escape.
Recovered from the crime scene were four empty shells of a .9mm-caliber pistol.
As of this writing, police have yet to identify the gunmen and their motive./PN
