ILOILO – Three persons got electrocuted in Barangay San Carlos, Anilao town. One died while two others were hospitalized.
Police Staff Sergeant Richie Britaña of the Anilao Municipal Police Station said the truck loaded with sugarcane in which the victims were riding along with their six companions was from Tapaz, Capiz.
According to the survivors, upon reaching Barangay San Carlos on Dec. 1, 18-year-old Rodney Balboa tried to reach an electric wire so the truck could easily pass through.
Efren Daulong, 22, who was leaning on Rodney when the incident happened around 3:50 p.m., died.
Also injured was Judy Esmediano, 32. He jumped off the truck.
Police said the victims, who were all residents of Barangay Badiang, Anilao, were taken to the Don Jose S. Monfort Medical Center Extension Hospital in Barotac Nuevo Hospital, but Daulong was pronounced “dead on arrival”.
The Anilao MPS is investigating the incident./PN
