SAN JOSE, Antique – A 17-year-old lad was killed and three others were injured after the delivery truck they were riding fell on its side in Barangay Malacañang, Culasi, Antique.
The minor died of body injuries while Emie Besin, Hanz Lloyd Fajardo and John Rey Villahermosa survived after the crash, a police report showed.
According to police investigators, the truck was going to deliver fish to Pandan, Antique when driver Michael Gabucay of Barangay La Paz, Hamtic, Antique fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle around 1 a.m. on Aug. 28.
Gabucay was unharmed, the investigators added.
Fajardo and Villahermosa were rushed to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in this capital town while Besin was considered outpatient.
Gabucay, meanwhile, surrendered and was detained in the custodial facility of the Culasi municipal police station, facing charges./PN
