BACOLOD City – A man was killed and four other people were injured in a road accident in Barangay Bulata, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the fatality as 42-year-old Noe Alvarez Degillo. He died of injuries on the head and body.
Residents Gene Hildore Elardo, 59; Mark Guillen Ebarat, 42; Rogelio Degillo, 60; a 5-year-old minor were also hurt.
Cauayan police station chief Major Lowell Garinganao said the incident happened around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Based on police investigation, the vehicle driven by Degillo crashed into a concrete wall in front of a house owned by Allan Magarce.
Degillo was reportedly been driving under the influence of liquor.
He was rushed to the Mercidetas Montilla District Hospital in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
