San Jose de Buenavista, Antique – A 27-year-old man died on Dec. 1, a few hours after figuring in a motorcycle accident along the national highway of Barangay Funda-Dalipe, here.
At around 10:30 p.m., the victim identified as Jade Alter Valdez of Barangay Igbonglo and his motorcycle companion Garyl Von Alonzo, 25, of Brgy. San Pedro, this town, were reportedly speeding as they headed to Poblacion in the town when they lost control of their vehicle, skidded and hit the concrete pavement.
The two suffered head injuries as well as various wounds. They were immediately rushed to Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital, but Valdez was declared dead by the attending physician around 8:15 a.m. the following day.
Witnesses claim the two may have been driving under the influence of liquor. Both were also not wearing helmets during the time of the accident.
Alonzo is still at the same hospital undergoing treatment./PN
