BACOLOD City – A van driver died in a multiple-vehicle collision.
The 51-year-old driver, Errol Panaligan, was a resident of Sitio Tan-ao, Barangay Poblacion 1, Sagay City, Negros Occidental. He was declared dead upon arrival at the Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital.
Panaligan’s van was mangled in the crash.
Truck driver Josepio Coniendo, 32, heard two successive impacts while traversing Barangay Fabrica, Sagay City, around 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 16.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Indiape, Jr. said Panaligan overtook another van driven by Rouel Tanguan, 31, with one passenger, Jappee Pablo, 20.
Panaligan may have failed to see another vehicle ahead of Tanguan’s van and rammed to the rear of Coniendo’s truck.
The involved drivers and the victim’s family have agreed to settle the accident./PN
