ILOILO City – A 27-year-old man was wounded in a shooting incident in Barangay Binolusan, Calinog, Iloilo.
Joel Leyble sustained a gunshot wound on the face, a police report showed.
The suspect was tagged as Sonny Casiple, 37, also a resident of the village.
According to police investigation, Leyble was on his way home when he was attacked by Casiple without apparent reason around 5 p.m. on Aug. 8.
Leyble was rushed to the Calinog District Hospital for medical treatment. He was, however, placed under under hospital arrest after police discovered he has a standing warrant of arrest for allegedly committing acts of lasciviousness.
Officers of the Calinog police station, on the other hand, conducted a manhunt operation against Casiple, who fled after the incident./PN
