BACOLOD City – One was killed while another was wounded in two separate shootings in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The first shooting happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the far-flung area of Sitio Danawan, Barangay Palampas and was reported only the next day, 1 p.m. Thursday.
The victim was identified by Superintendent D’Artagnan Katalbas Jr., San Carlos City police chief, as Going Caniban Mondejar, 45, a farmer and resident of Barangay Palampas.
His employer, Fortunato Rivera Cañas, a resident of Purok Lubi, Villarante Village in Barangay 1, reported to the police that he found Mondejar dead inside a shanty in his farm.
The victim had four gunshot wounds.
Police recovered two empty shells of a .45 handgun at the crime scene.
The other incident happened at 12:16 p.m. in San Juan Tunga, Barangay 5. Police identified the victim as Ronnie Cababa Libron, 23.
Sustaining gunshot wounds, Libron was rushed to the San Carlos City Hospital.
Police named a suspect – Gilbert Palmares Baritua, 35, alias “Dodong Sape”.
The victim and suspect had a heated argument prior to the shooting./PN
