BACOLOD City – A man was killed while another was wounded in a shooting incident in Barangay Culipapa, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the fatality as resident Nemosthenes Ampil.
The 58-year-old Teresito Cortes – also resident of the village – sustained a gunshot wound on the body, a police report showed.
They were brought to Bayawan District Hospital in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental for medical treatment where the attending physician declared Ampil “dead on arrival.”
It was around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday when the shooting happened, the report added.
The suspect was identified as resident Dado Furtogaleza. He fled after the shooting, police said.
As of this writing, officers of the Hinoba-an municipal police have yet identify the motive in the incident./PN
