BACOLOD City – The motorcycle they were riding crashed against a cargo truck in Sitio Lugway, Barangay Guiljungan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
The 22-year-old motorcycle driver EJ Talaman died while his back rider Christian Aldamar Allona, 23, was injured. Both of them were residents of Ilog, Negros Occidental.
It was around 12 p.m. on Thursday when the crash happened.
Talaman and Allona sustained head and body injuries after the truck carrying sugarcanes driven by the 29-year-old Herman Mantak ran over them.
Talaman and Allona were then brought to the Cauayan District Hospital where the former was pronounced “dead on arrival.”
Allona, on the other hand, was later transferred to the Holy Mother of Mercy Hospital in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental for further treatment.
Police were still investigating the incident./PN
