BUENAVISTA, Guimaras – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) turned over medicines and vitamins worth P200,000 to 10 barangays here.
The barangays were Sawang, Sto. Rosario, Taminla, Rizal, Tacay, Montpiller, Getulio, Umilig, San Pedro, and San Nicolas.
Mayor Eugenio Gallo Reyes received the medicines and vitamins from PCSO general manager Royina Garma on June 25.
PCSO has a Medicine Assistance Through Branch Offices (MATBO) program.
Reyes said barangay officials would be tasked to distribute the medicines and vitamins to their constituents, particularly the poor, to bolster their immune system.
As of June 26, Buenavista had 118 active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
It was followed by Jordan (18), Nueva Valencia (15), Sibunag (10), and San Lorenzo (nine)./PN
