BELISON, Antique – A passenger van crashed against a store in Barangay Maradiona here. Ten persons were hurt.
The driver, 29-year-old Regie Antonio of Barbaza, Antique, was brought to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in San Jose, Antique,
Antonio’s passengers who sustained minor injuries were the following:
* Arfie Ledesma, 29, from Hamtic town
* Espocia Alvarez, 67
* Raymart Alolod, 27, from Barangay Sta. Ana, Tibiao
* Lanelyn Belecina, 54, from Culasi
* Mark Anthony Benson, 20, from Barbaza
* Gracia Grace Fillalin, 23, from Culasi
* Kareyl Joy Soverano, 38, from Barangay Poblacion, Tibiao
* Norlito Soverano, 48, from Barangay Poblacion, Tibiao
* Evelyn Remo, 56, from Barangay Jinalinan, Barbaza
Initial police investigation showed the van to be a “colorum” (unregistered/franchiseless).
Cops theorized that when the driver saw from afar a checkpoint of the Land Transportation Office on Monday morning, Dec. 7, he tried to change course. It was at this moment that the van crashed against the store.
Antonio faces charges for reckless imprudence resulting to multiple injuries and damage to property./PN
