ILOILO City – Two antidrug operations of the police netted two drug suspects in northern and southern Iloilo in one day.
Six sachets of shabu were seized from a 36-year-old man in Purok 1, San Joaquin town.
Jose Maria Vincent Tantiado of Barangay San Rafael, Miag-ao was taken to the San Joaquin police station around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
A cellular phone and the P520 buy-bust money were also recovered from the suspect.
Tantiado faces a charge for illegal drug possession and peddling – acts prohibited by the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The buy-bust was a joint operation of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office and San Joaquin police station.
Less than an hour after, four sachets of shabu were seized from a drug surrenderee in Barangay Camari, San Enrique, Iloilo.
The 19 year-old Mario Barlan Jr. of Barangay Ilawod, San Enrique was detained at the municipal police station around 4:15 p.m.
