ILOILO City – Ten Western Visayas-based schools are set to compete with 39 others in the 24th University Games, which will formally open today at the University of San Agustin here.
These schools are host SanAg, University of Saint La Salle, Central Philippine University, Iloilo Doctors College, Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias, Institute of Science and Technology-Iloilo, Hercor College, Colegio Dela Purisima Concepcion, Colegio de San Agustin Bacolod, and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.
Also joining are UAAP squads Adamson University, De La Salle University, National University, University of the Philippines, University of the East, and University of Santo Tomas.
NCAA squads joining, meanwhile, are Arellano University, College of St. Benilde, Mapua University, and Lyceum of the Philippines.
Completing the school lineup are the University of Perpetual Help System Jonelta, Holy Angel University, Holy Cross of Davai College, De La Salle-Dasmarinas, Foundation University-Dumaguete, EARIST, South East Asian Institute of Technology, Asian College-Dumaguete, Enderun College, Pilgrim Christian College, Saint Louis College-La Union, University of Eastern Philippines, Technological University of the Philippines, Rizal Technological University, UM-Davao, UM-Tagum, Ateneo De Davao University, Cebu Institute of Technology, and University of Northern Philippines.
Among the events be played in the week-long event are men’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s beach volleyball, men’s and women’s athletics, table tennis for men and women, football, taekwondo, chess, and badminton./PN
