ILOILO City – A 10-year-old boy drowned in a river in Barangay Ilajas, Dingle, Iloilo.
The Grade 10 pupil Clarence Angelo Molita of Ilajas Elementary School was swimming in Jalaur river with his cousin and sister when the incident happened.
Molita was able to shout for help around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, alarming his cousin and sister.
Residents fished out the boy’s body from the river 30 minutes later.
Molita was rushed to the Iloilo Provincial Hospital where the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”/PN
