BUGASONG, Antique – As of June 23, around 1,000 residents of Bugasong, Antique received their first dose of the vaccine against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Rian Villanueva, 35, of Barangay Ilaya was the 1000th person to receive the first dose.
Villanueva belongs in the A3 priority group as he suffers from hypertension.
“Today, June 23, 2021 marks our 1,000th vaccinee in the person of MR. RIAN VILLANUEVA, 35 years old of Barangay Ilaya, Bugasong, Antique under category A3, hypertension,” read a statement by the Regional Health Unit (RHU)- Bugasong in a Facebook post.
The RHU is aiming to vaccinate the remaining 23,000 residents to achieve herd immunity.
Doctors and nurses from the Antique Provincial Health Office offered their assistance in the vaccination program.
The RHU is inviting all Bugasongnons belonging in the A1 to A3 – health care workers, senior citizens, persons with comorbidities – to schedule for vaccination with their Barangay Health Workers or barangay officials.

Those willing can also go to directly to the RHU to get listed for vaccination./PN
