BACOLOD City – So far, 101,553 Negros Occidental residents have been vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz.
As of July 2, Diaz said 61,558 have been vaccinated with CoronaVac manufactured by China-based Sinovac Biotech.
On the other hand, 35,481 individuals received the British anti-coronavirus jab AstraZeneca while 4,514 got Pfizer BioNTech shots.
Data also showed that as of July 2, 82,376 individuals already received their first dose – equivalent to 4.51 percent of the province’s target for vaccination (at least 1,825,730 individuals).
Meanwhile, 19,177 individuals (1.05 percent) already received their second dose of the vaccine.
Further, data also revealed that the cities of Escalante, Sagay and La Carlota achieved 100 percent utilization of CoronaVac jabs.
They were followed by the local government units of E.B. Magalona which achieved 97 percent utilization, Kabankalan City with 96 percent, Talisay City with 91 percent, and Pulupandan with 75 percent./PN
