ILOILO City – A total of 1,065 police personnel across Region 6 were promoted to the next higher rank.
The donning of rank was held on Dec. 15 at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) headquarters in Camp Delgado here spearheaded by Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, regional police director.
Of those promoted, 24 were Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and 1,041 were Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs).
Of the 24 PCOs, two were promoted from Major to Lieutenant Colonel, 11 from Captain to Major, nine from Lieutenant to Captain, and two from Police Executive Master Sergeant to Lieutenant.
For PNCOs, 240 were promoted to Police Corporal, 158 to Police Staff Sergeant, 156 to Police Master Sergeant, 303 to Police Senior Master Sergeant, 117 to Police Chief Master Sergeant, and 67 to Police Executive Master Sergeant.
“We are happy that these police officers are ready to take higher responsibilities,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, PRO-6 spokesperson.
Among the newly promoted Police Majors were the spokesperson of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, and Arevalo district police chief, Major Chen Tañagas.
“Aside from privileges and rewards nga makuha mo, there are added responsibilities and accountability. We have to work hard to serve and protect the people. It is not all about honor and glory,” said Sangrines.
For his part, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director, Police Colonel Gilbert Gorero said he is proud that 200 of his personnel were promoted.
“When someone gets promoted, he has to further improve this performance. Promotion is proof that the organization believes that those elevated to the next higher rank are qualified,” Gorero said./PN
