ROXAS City – A passenger van from Kalibo, Aklan veered off a road in Barangay Duran, Dumalag, Capiz, injuring 11 people on board.
The 45-year-old Nestor Catalonia was driving the Iloilo City-bound van around 8 a.m. on Tuesday when the incident happened.
Catalonia told the police that he lost control of the vehicle when one of its front wheels exploded.
Catalonia and passengers Romel de Santo Tomas, 28, Margie Tabula, 33, Rachelle Barrientos, 25, Gary Lanceta, 37, Cidney John Mercid, 28, Aba Lariza, 27, Angelo Moral, 53, Maybelle Salugac, 36, Jelo Pagobo, 33, and, Jayzon Calizar, 23, sustained minor injuries, police said.
Dumalag municipal emergency responders administered first aid on them.
Catalonia was now under the custody of the Dumalag municipal police station./PN
