ILOILO City – Eleven persons were arrested from a suspected drug den raided in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district.
Recovered from the house were four elongated plastic sachets and one big plastic sachet, all containing suspected shabu worth more or less P10,000.
The subject of the buy-bust operation staged around 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 26 was Adonis Alberte, 29, of Barangay Bito-on, Jaro district.
But 10 others who were in the house at the time of the sting operation were also arrested.
Alberte was the caretaker of the said house, according to operatives of the Mandurriao police and City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group.
The 10 other suspects were Venus Mena of Barangay Bakhaw; Josephine Mendoza of La Paz district; Mark Anthony Lunar and Jose Chua of Jaro district; Arnold Anatan of Lapuz district; Glenn Paana of Barangay Cuartero, Jaro; Francis Calino of Mandurriao; Ronnie Gubal of Barangay Burgos, La Paz district; Jennifer Estellan of Mandurriao; and Regie Aguilar of Barangay Taft North, Mandurriao.
Barangay Bakhaw was one of the favorite sources of illegal drugs in Iloilo, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The other two were barangays Cubay and Desamparados in Jaro, said PDEA.
