11 suspects arrested, P1.2-M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Iloilo City drug ops

ILOILO City – Law enforcement in Western Visayas arrested 11 individuals and seized around 189 grams of suspected “shabu” worth P1,285,000 during a series of anti-drug operations from September 26 to 27, 2024.

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) revealed that five of the arrested suspects are classified as high-value targets, while six are street-level drug peddlers.

The operations were spearheaded by the Iloilo City Police Office, which confiscated illegal drugs valued at P455,000.

The Antique Police Provincial Office followed with P408,000 worth of drugs, and the Bacolod City Police Office accounted for P374,000.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, Western Visayas police director, commended the successful operations, highlighting the strong collaboration between law enforcement and the community.

“This is a testament to our robust partnership. Our intensified campaign against illegal drugs will continue,” he said.

The suspects are currently in detention and will face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
