YES because you’re still locked up in your shelters and ahmmm… in the midst of looking for something to binge-watch?
You know K-drama land has been loud these days so it’s hard not to join the fun!
So I personally picked these – if not top-tier then edge-of-the-seat – creations of SoKor’s genius minds. Actually there’s really a long long list but I just exhausted my top picks. Maybe I can do a Part 2 next time.
For this issue, I have 11. Check them out.
1. The Package
My dream is to travel. One of my dream dests? France! And I achieved that dream, err, while watching this series. Haha! Plus this got an awesome set of characters… with their own stories to tell. Aww. It’s actually fun. And CNBLUE’s Jung Yong-Hwa is going to be your dream (?) travel buddy. Yoon Park and Choi Woo-Sik are here, too! Safe trip.
2. Missing Nine
Exhilarating! Staccato heartbeats everywhere. It’s like you’re watching a survival show. While it was fast-paced, it’s also accurate.
3. Because this is my First Life
Swoon-worthy! I was honestly moved to tears with the story’s flow. I just loved Lee Min Ki and Jung So-Min’s chemistry. And THAT cutie cat! This series gave off a hot-and-cold atmosphere. Just see for yourself.
4. Welcome to Waikiki (Season 1)
Gwaenchana, gwaenchana!
Here comes the iconic expression of Lee Yi-Kyung who played the role of Joon-Ki, the actor. If you want a super hilarious experience, here, it’s the best for you! Every episode will leave you cackling and crying and tumbling and/or hitting your seatmate. Plus the promising friendship of the three! I’m also putting here baby Sol because why not she’s just too cute… too adorable to handle. Enjoy!
5. Sky Castle
“We all lie…”
Top-tier plot. This series exposes sad realities in society especially in the aspect of education. Ready your hearts while watching. It’s a great watch for the whole fam.
6. Kill Me, Heal Me
The. Ending. Was. Really. That. Satisfying. Well for me. Though it was kind of painful but it’s like freeing yourself not just from the others but from your own inhibitions and doubts. This was an emotional hit. But wait. I’m putting Park Seo-Joon here because I really love this scene. I can literally hear Ji Sung’s ‘OPPA!’
7. Ruler: Master of the Mask
Okay. I love Yoo Seung-Ho. Haha. But feelings aside, I personally laud the plot of this historical drama. The twists are insane. Kim So Hyun and Seung-Ho’s acting skills are on point.
8. Chicago Typewriter
An underrated classic. This was such a great watch. All the vintage vibe, the flow of the story, the friendship. It’s kind of a refreshing experience.
9. Blood
Ahn Jae-Hyun is my only vampire in SoKor. Hehe. But on serious note, the story exudes courage and struggle. No complex conflicts but some twists are unimaginable. And some would say the ending’s a bit disappointing? Hmm. You judge.
10. Healer
An action-packed masterpiece. This got me unprepared. I can’t imagine some of the *clingy* moments have brought me to tears. And Wookie’s the best for action!
11. Uncontrollably Fond
A sucker for tearjerkers? Okay, go. Actually I asked a friend to recommend a drama that’s light and bubbly and she recommended this. Like fudge! It made me bawl. Anyway, there’s that very reason you keep the watch on a certain drama despite you already have an idea how it would end./PN
