BACOLOD City – An 11-year-old boy was beaten to death in a fistfight at Block 19, Villa Jose Housing in Barangay 1-A, Manapla, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
The suspect was a 10-year-old boy, police said.
The victim was roaming the village on board a bicycle when the other child provoked him, resulting in the fistfight around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the report stated.
Municipal police chief Senior Inspector Julius Caesar Colado said the 11-year-old boy – who sustained head injuries – was rushed to the Cadiz District Hospital in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
But the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival,” Colado added.
The 10-year-old boy was now in the custody of the Women and Children Protection Desk of the Manapla police station after his father turned him in./PN
