112 homes in Concepcion, Iloilo on lockdown

ILOILO – Around 112 homes were placed under lockdown in Concepcion, Iloilo on May 18, Tuesday after 20 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Punta Luis, Barangay Poblacion.

Mayor Raul Banias issued Executive Order Number 21, series of 2021, with the subject: ““An order placing 44 houses in Sitio Punta Luis and three houses in Purok Gumamela all in Barangay Poblacion and 59 houses in the NHA Resettlement Village, five houses in SM Cares Village and One houses in Assumpta GK Village all in Barangay Bacjawan Sur under Granular Lockdown.”

The EO explained that Saturday, May 15, the Municipal Health Office was informed that a pregnant woman was found positive for COVID-19.

An investigation by the Medical Team, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and contact tracers found eight out 14 first generation contacts were found positive for the virus.

Banias’ EO includes the following directives:

*To place under granular or surgical lockdown 44 houses in Sitio Punta Luis and three houses in Purok Gumamela in Barangay Poblacion and 55 houses in the NHA Resettlement Village, five houses in SM Care Village, one house in Assumpta GK Village in Barangay Bacjawan Sur.

* Our MSWDO and MDRRMO responders to provide family food packs to all affected households and also to all BHERTs monitoring the household members and to Tanods and Volunteers manning the checkpoints.

* The Police under Police Major Ronnie Brillo, OIC Chief of Police, to enforce the lockdown and to supervise the Tanods and Barangay Officials in the Checkpoints.

* Our Medical Team to conduct active case detection by swabbing all contacts for RT-PCR testing.

* Our GSO to perform decontamination of houses or building determined by the Medical Team.

*Directing the Barangay Officials, Barangay Tanods and BHERTs of Barangay Poblacion and Isolation and Barangay Bacjawan Sur and the PNP to strictly monitor compliance to the lockdown and home isolation.

Banias in a Facebook post on Wednesday said he will meet with the COVID Task Force to address the new reported COVID-19 cases in Punta Luis.

“We are doing everything to contain this. We need the cooperation of everybody. Strict Covid Health Protocols should be followed, mask wearing even indoors should be followed,” Banias said./PN
