ILOILO City – The city government here has started putting up green tunnels along Diversion Road, Mandurriao.

According to city architect Regie Gregorio, 12 green tunnels will be erected in the area as part of the city’s Green Projects.

“Part ini sang beautification sang aton Diversion Road,” Gregorio added.

Meanwhile, Mayor Jerry Treñas said it has always been his dream to bring Iloilo City to the next level and create a sustainable living environment for Ilonggos.

“Nowadays, we are experiencing the extreme effects of climate change, and to fight its impacts, our Green Projects are currently in progress. I initiated these Green Tunnel for our residents to have a greener walk lane,” added Treñas.

Aside from the green tunnels, the construction of the 32 waiting sheds with vines and plants as roofing along Diversion Road’s public utility jeepneys’ loading and unloading bays is also ongoing.
