12-hour brownout on Sunday in parts of Iloilo city and province

ILOILO City – Residents and businesses in parts of this city and the province of Iloilo are being alerted by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) to prepare for a 12-hour scheduled power interruption on Sunday, Feb. 18.

The outage, which will last from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., is due to preventive maintenance on the 100 megavolt amperes (MVA) transformer No.  1 at NGCP’s Iloilo Substation.

The following distribution utilities will be affected:

* MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) in this city, particularly the Molo Mobile Substation 1 and Megaworld Substations; Global Business Power Corp.-Meralco PowerGen Corp. – Panay Power Corporation 1 and Banuyao; and Iloilo Electric Cooperative 1 (ILECO-1) – Pavia Substation.

The NGCP has stated that the specific areas to be affected are determined by the distribution utility and electric cooperatives, and efforts will be made to restore power as early as possible or according to schedule.

In Iloilo City, MORE Power has issued a list of affected areas, including:

* The entirety of Molo Feeders 1, 4, and 5, covering parts of Taal, East Timawa, Tap-oc, Katilingban, and San Pedro in the Molo district; parts of San Agustin, Villa Anita, San Felix, Roxas Village, and the whole of Inday in the City Proper district; parts of North Avanceña, North Fundidor, South Fundidor, Compania, Calumpang, San Antonio, North San Jose, and the whole of South San Jose in the Molo district; additional parts of North Fundidor, South Fundidor in Molo; and parts of Dulonan, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Santa Filomena, Calaparan, Quezon, Yulo Drive, Sto. Nino Sur, and Sto Nino Norte in the Arevalo district.

* The entire Mobile Substation, including parts of Tabucan and San Rafael in the Mandurriao district, and parts of North San Jose and Tap-oc in the Molo district.

* Portions of Mandurriao Feeder 5, Molo Feeder 2, and Molo Feeder 3, affecting areas like Bolilao and San Rafael in Mandurriao (including SM Strata, Injap Tower, Diversion 21 Hotel, and ICC Gaisano); parts of Taal, East Timawa, Infante, Kasing-kasing, San Pedro, San Antonio, North Avancena, Katilingban, Poblacion, and West Timawa in the Molo district; and parts of Kauswagan, Ed Ganzon, Danao, Sampaguita, San Agustin, Liberation, Hipodromo, Villa Anita, Delgado-Jalandoni-Bagumbayan, Jalandoni Wilson, Tanza Esperanza, Malipayon-Delgado, Mabolo-Delgado, San Felix, Tanza Timawa I, and Tanza Timawa II; and parts in San Antonio, Compania, Infante, Calapara, North Avancena, Kasing-kasing, Calumpang, Boulevard, San Juan, East Baluarte, South Baluarte, North Baluarte, Cochero, Habog-habog Salvacion, and West Habog-habog in the Molo district and parts of Timawa Tanza I and II, Tanza Esperanza, Jalandoni-Wilson-Bagumbayan, Hipodromo, Liberation, Kauswagan, Nonoy, Ortiz, Magsaysay, Maria Clara, Tanza Baybay, Bonifacio Tanza, Rizal Estanzuela, Kahirupan, Gloria, Flores, Rizal Palapala 1 and II, San Jose, Rima Rizal, Osmena, and Rizal Ibarra.

Additionally, there will be power interruptions from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. for Molo Feeders 2 and 3, including parts of La Paz Feeder 1 covering areas in barangays Danao, Ed Ganzon, Roxas Village, Magsaysay, and Kauswagan in the City Proper.

The whole Megaworld Substation and the entire Mandurriao Feeder 5 will experience power interruptions from 1 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m./PN
