12-hour power interruption in NegOcc on July 3

BACOLOD City – The service areas of two electric cooperatives in Negros Occidental will experience a 12-hour power interruption on July 3, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) will conduct maintenance activities along the Bacolod – San Enrique 69 kilo-volt (kV) line.

This will affect the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) Sum-ag and Lag-asan substations and Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NOCECO) Valladolid, La Carlota and San Enrique substations.

NOCECO serves Pulupandan, San Enrique, Valladolid, Pontevedra, La Castellana, Moises Padilla, Isabela, Hinigaran, Binalbagan, Himamaylan, Kabankalan, Ilog, Candoni, Cauyan, Sipalay, Hinoba-an and La Carlota City.

CENECO, on the other hand, serves Bacolod City, Silay City, the municipality of Murcia, Talisay City, and Bago City.

The power cooperatives clarified, however, that not all of their franchise areas will be affected, but only the areas under the mentioned substations.

To maximize the period of NGCP’s maintenance activities, CENECO it deemed wise to also conduct its own maintenance activities in the affected areas on July 3, according to acting general manager Ervin Stan Leo Ticar./PN
