ILOILO – The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) – Iloilo is inviting job seekers in the city and province of Iloilo to participate in the Mega Job Fair this Friday, Dec. 1, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., at the second and third floor activity areas of Robinsons Place Jaro in Jaro, Iloilo City,
Francisco Heler Jr., PESO-Iloilo manager, said 100 companies have confirmed participation. Of these, 88 are local companies and 10 are overseas land-based. The Philippine Army and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology will also be participating.
In total, 12,050 placements await job seekers: 7,049 local and 5,001 overseas. Further, 22 local companies will cater to persons with disabilities (PWDs) and 14 local companies will accept applications from senior citizens.
“As long as qualified and fit to work pa ang aton PWDs and senior citizens, puede gid sila maka-apply,” Heler told Panay News on Thursday, Nov. 30.
Companies have also committed to giving high school and senior high school graduates a chance.
Heler noted 57 local companies accepting senior high school graduates and 27 local companies accepting part-time applicants.
For part-time work, the following positions are offered: cashier, sales promoter, sales associate, and store crew.
Job vacancies for high school and senior high school graduates are cleaner, kitchen crew, dining crew, pharmacy assistant, English tutor, quality checker, food handler, store crew, cashier, sales clerk, voice, and non-voice.
Easy-to-fill jobs or in-demand jobs are offered, such as store crew, customer service representative, cashier, service crew, handler, warehouse associate, promodiser, management trainee, packer, jail officer 1, and officer candidate course.
Job orders offered (in-demand jobs) such as butcher and driver truck for Poland and Slovakia; carpenter bound for New Zealand; registered nurse bound for Washington D.C., Singapore, Germany, and Qatar; cleaner/working washing bound for Malaysia; and mechanical maintenance technician bound for Papua New Guinea; cashier bound for Bahrain; and welder and female cleaner bound for UAE.
The government agencies and offices that earlier confirmed to set up help desks are the following: Pag-IBIG Fund, Social Security System, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Foreign Affairs, Philippine Statistics Authority, National Bureau of Investigation, Department of Trade and Industry, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of Labor and Employment, Professional Regulation Commission, and Philippine Health Insurance Corp.
Three local government units – Tigbauan, Zaraga and Lambunao – offer “Libre Sakay.”
