MANILA – Thirteen Western Visayas (WV) spikers are set to showcase their wares in the opening of the much-awaited University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 82 Women’s Volleyball at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City today.
The De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spikers will have three WV-based players in their opening day roster. They are Dumangas, Iloilo-native Aduke Ogunsaya, Bacolodnon Michelle Cobb, and Silay City-native rookie Marite Espina.
University of the Philippines Lady Maroons also has the same digit with DLSU in their lineup in Bacolodnons Jessma Ramos and rookie Jeanny Padilla, along with Iloilo-native Marianne Sotomil.
Meanwhile, the defending champion Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles has two WV-based players in its roster. They are Ilonggas Danielle Theris Ravena and Roma Mae Doromal.
The National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs share the same number of WV-based players in its squad with Ateneo. Bacolodnon Gelina Luceño and Ilongga Pearl An Denura will banner the NU colors this season.
Adamson University Lady Falcons, on the other hand, has one WV-based player in Bacolod City’s Hannah Infante, Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tamaraws parades Dumangas-native Ria Duremdes, while University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses presents Talisay City-native Cat Pollentes.
The University of the East (UE) Lady Warriors has yet to release its official lineup for the season as of this writing.
