BACOLOD City – Three persons were killed while four others were injured after the tricycle they were riding crashed against a car on Malaspina Street, B.S. Aquino Drive in Barangay Villamonte, a police report showed.
Police identified the casualties as the 60-year-old Erlinda Villar, 44-year-old Melinda Tesoro and 31-year-old Rodelyn Nacis.
Among those who were hurt were the 33-year-old Elvis Barcenas, 57-year-old Merlinda Barcenas, 16-year-old Erica Tesoro, and 19-year-old Geralyn Villar, added the police.
All of them are residents of Murcia, Negros Occidental, the report stated.
According to Senior Police Officer 2 John Garong of the Police Station 4, the crash happened around 12 a.m. on Thursday.
Erlinda and Melinda died on the spot while Nacis was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital where she was pronounced “dead on arrival,” police said.
The injured victims were currently under treatment in the same hospital.
On the other hand, the 28-year-old car driver Luigi Malacon of E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental was detained at the Police Station 4 custodial facility./PN
