BORACAY ā Some resort owners in this famed beach destination pushed through with LaBoracay on Tuesday despite the ongoing island closure and rehabilitation.
Many people were seen at the beach during daytime and party music blasted from some establishments during nighttime, GMA News reported.
Some even had pool parties, it added.
Holding LaBoracay ā an annual beach party in Boracay on Labor Day ā this year is their way to āease the pain and sadnessā amid the up to six month closure of the island, according to resort owners.
They added that it is also their way to show solidarity.
In 2017, some 70,000 tourists came to the island for Laboracay.
The island was closed beginning April 26 to pave the way for its rehabilitation. (With GMA News/PN)
